Ghanshyam Rathod

Born in Ahmedabad, Rathod completed his Diploma in Painting from the Sheth C. N. College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad in 2003. He has participated in several group and solo shows namely: ‘EMERGENCE’ sponsored by Gujarat Lalit kala Academy, Mumbai in 2015. ‘Art & Jewellery’ at Samara Art Gallery & Art Fair Parallel, Ahmedabad in 2019. He has received an award from Mahua Art Gallery & HK Kejriwal Foundation, Bangalore in 2018. His revolves the idea of how tablets and smart phones have taken over today’s society, newspapers and magazines have lost their charm. In order to restore the value of paper, Rathod creates beautiful sculptures made of paper, creating a 3D world out of something that is ‘just a piece of paper’.
The artist lives and works in Ahmedabad.
