“In this work, I’m tracing the lines of the origins of the Pustimarg Temple ‘Nathdwara’ and the Goswami Haveli, where Shree Gopinathji installed a lamp for ritualistic rites about 222 years ago. The haveli is situated in the heart of Ahmedabad, surrounded by houses with wooden carvings and ‘jharokhas’. The backdrop has the graphics of cows in sacred pink and gold, symbolic of the purity of love of Lord Krishna for the Gaushala, and the cows residing there. The central figure, Lord Krishna (also known as Shreenathji) incarnated taking the form of pushti sect (a priest). Further, the square Yantra, a divine monogram depicts Lord Krishna’s sonic energy, spiritually. Yantras are like schematic sketches of the contours or structures of divine energy fields. Moreover it is symbolic of the nucleus of cosmic energy and hence represents the source of power.”
