“The first thing that comes to my mind when someone says Ahmedabad is kites and the vibrancy and colourfulness of Uttarayan. Although I live in Delhi these days, I always try to visit Ahmedabad during this festival, as it gives me a very nice vibe. So I felt like I had to keep the kite in the centre of this work, as I feel Uttarayan is an important part of Ahmedabad. Further, the illustration of God Ganesha inside the kite is symbolic of the prosperity of Ahmedabad. Lastly, the cityscape in the bottom is highlighting all the iconic structures of Ahmedabad, such as Teen Darwaza, Patang Hotel, Sidi Bashir Mosque, Jhulta Minaras, etc.”
