This limited edition serigraph is part of a series titled ‘The Ahmedabad Serigraphs’ which consist of 33 serigraphs done by 33 different artists each serigraph is a window to the city, as seen from the eyes of the artist, each of who has presented a central idea of Ahmedabad as testimony of their feeling for the city.
Daring, illustrates the passion that people of Ahmedabad have for their festivals, food, and culture. This work is filled with humour, completed with the classic vibrancy of Mansoori’s colours and their gradients imparting very festive vibes. Here, the foreground has a boy on top of the iconic Patang Hotel of Ahmedabad, flying kites despite the rains pouring down. This is symbolic of how passionate people of Ahmedabad are for their festivals. To highlight the vibrancy of these celebrations, the kite, is painted in the beautiful gradient of oranges and yellows. In the background, the cityscape of Ahmedabad is sketched out, and its major landmarks, that are Riverfront park, Sabarmati river, etc. Further to highlight the elements of festivity, Mansoori has toned down the background to mere shades of grey.
