Deserted city is inspired from the poems of the famous Gujarati poet Adil Mansuri. Mansuri was known for his poem on Ahmedabad and his love for the city. He talks about the beauty of the city that resides on the banks of Sabarmati and how he wishes to immortalize the sights of the roads, windows, walls and homes. Sagara here brings out the meaning of the poem by showing the map of Ahmedabad and its streets and impressions of the heritage of this city, painted in warm shades of brown bringing out its earthiness. One of the famous gates of the city have been depicted in such a way to show that the cultural heritage is now disappearing.
