This limited edition serigraph is part of a series titled ‘The Ahmedabad Serigraphs’ which consist of 33 serigraphs done by 33 different artists each serigraph is a window to the city, as seen from the eyes of the artist, each of who has presented a central idea of Ahmedabad as testimony of their feeling for the city.
“Ahmedabad is rapidly changing its forms and city life. Now there are high rise buildings, offices and modern architecture, with transparent glass panels in front side, curvilinear fly-overs, controlling traffic, a number of cars, small and big in sleek and colourful models. These visual stimuli inspired me to paint this city which has vibrancy and liveliness of speed. The progress of the city is increasing day by day and at an astonishing level. This will necessitate the use of mono rails, helicopters, subways and plane services frequently to carry people from one place to another. This, I am trying to bring out in my work with all its aura and sensitive vista.“
